Diese Performance wurde erstmals am 31. Dezember 2001 durchgeführt und entstand als Reaktion auf die US-amerikanische Invasion in Afghanistan. Der Titel bezieht sich auf das gleichnamige Gesetz, das allen US-Bürgern das Recht gibt, Einblick in unveröffentlichte Staatsdokumente und -informationen zu nehmen. Die Regeln von Miguel Gutierrez' Aktion sind ebenso radikal wie simpel. Der Choreograf und Tänzer wird sich 24 Stunden lang ununterbrochen mit verschlossenen Augen und Ohren in einem leeren Raum bewegen.
Miguel Gutierrez ist Choreograf, Tänzer und Musiker. Mit seinen Solo- und Gruppenstücken gastiert er u.a. in den USA, in Australien, Großbritannien und Belgien. In den letzten Jahren hat Gutierrez außerdem immer wieder Aktionen erarbeitet, die sich an der Grenze zwischen politischem Protest und exzentrischem Happening bewegen. |
This performance was first carried out on December 31, 2001. It was created as a reaction to the US invasion of Afghanistan. The title refers to the law of the same name that gives every US citizen the right to access unpublished government documents and other information. The rules of Miguel Gutierrez' action are just as radical as they are simple. The choreographer and dancer will spend 24 hours in ceaseless movement in a closed room, with his eyes and ears shut.
Miguel Gutierrez is a choreographer, dancer, and musician. He has appeared in his own solo and group performances in a number of countries including the US, Australia, the UK and Belgium. In recent years, Gutierrez entered a gray area between political protest and eccentric happening with his performances.

It is for anyone who has ever had the interest in combining the joie de vivre that is the vigorous bouncing of one's anatomical/spiritual/ energetic molecules with the existential absurdity that is living in a world/ country/economic system of injustice, warmongering and cultural ineptitude. Oh wait, that's you! Come in costume [and comfortable shoes]. Taste the sweat.
