POLITICS OF ECSTASY / ALTERED STATES OF PRESENCE ist die 6. Ausgabe des CONTEXT-Festivals und präsentiert Ekstase zum Anschauen und Erleben. Im Mittelpunkt steht damit ein körperlicher und mentaler Zustand des Außer-Sich-Seins, der mit einer intensivierten Wahrnehmung von Gegenwart einhergeht. Ekstase findet sich in den unterschiedlichsten Kontexten und Ausprägungen: als Trance, Körpertechnik oder im Drogenrausch sowie in der Improvisation, in der Clubkultur und im Gebet.
Das Programm, das wir als Künstler und Dramaturgen für Sie zusammengestellt haben, versammelt Positionen aus Tanz, Performance, Musik und Theorie sowie ein Improvisationsprojekt mit Tänzern und Musikern. Besonders wichtig war es uns, das bei Festivals gängige "show and go"- Prinzip zu vermeiden und eine Atmosphäre der Geborgenheit und Gemeinschaftlichkeit herzustellen. Hierfür haben wir das HAU 2 zum Festivalzentrum umbauen lassen, in dem ekstatische Erfahrungen gemacht werden können. Performances, Vorträge, Konzerte, Dinner, Improvisationen und Partys finden alle im selben Setting statt, so dass sich die beteiligten Künstler und Festivalgäste in anregender Umgebung aufhalten und begegnen können.
Zu sehen sind also nicht nur aufregende Choreografen, Tänzer, Musiker, Theoretiker, Schamanen und Köche, sondern möglicherweise auch Zuschauer, die im Laufe der Tage zum Teil der Festivalgemeinschaft geworden sind. Unser Programm ist eine persönliche Einladung und gibt jedem Raum und Zeit, um selbst ekstatische Erfahrungen zu machen. Wir sind täglich ab 17.00 Uhr für körperliche, akustische, kulinarische und intellektuelle Ekstasen bereit und freuen uns darauf, Ihr Glücksgefühl zu teilen. Nur Mut, denn sobald man die distanzierte Beobachterperspektive hinter sich gelassen hat macht das Ganze noch mehr Spaß!
POLITICS OF ECSTASY / ALTERED STATES OF PRESENCE is the 6th Edition of the CONTEXT-Festival and offers a space for artists and participants to get closer to ecstasy. We investigate an extreme physical and mental state of being out-of-self, that involves the magnification of perception and presence. We approach ecstasy in engaging and researching in various forms, such as trance, somatic exploration, intoxication, improvisation, club culture and ecstatic prayer.
A festival curated by artists and dramaturges, "Politics of Ecstasy" assembles positions from dance, performance art, music and theory, including an improvisation project with dancers and musicians. We seek to cultivate a temporary community and avoid the typical "show and go" mentality of most festivals. The HAU 2 will serve as our festival center and become a platform for ecstatic experiences. Lectures, concerts, dinners, improvisations and kick-ass parties will take place there, but it will also welcome artists and festival guests in a comfortable and stimulating environment to meet and exchange.
This 10 day celebration will not only feature incredible artists, theorists, musicians, choreographers, dancers, shamans and chefs, but provide an opportunity for everyone in the audience to become part of a temporary ecstatic community. Our program is a personal invitation for everyone to experience their own ecstasy. Everyday from 5 pm we are ready for physical, acoustic, culinary and intellectual ecstasy and are looking forward to share your bliss. Let go of your viewers distance and enjoy!

In order to open the gates of perception and to prepare the transition to altered states of consciousness, HAU 2 will be greeting visitors with a very special atmosphere. The artists and set designers Doris Dziersk, Anke Philipp, and Sophie-Therese Trenka-Dalton are transforming the theater into an ecstatic festival center, receiving visitors with warmth, a feeling of security, coziness, and good food. This is where performances and improvisations, concerts and lectures, parties and dinners will be happening.
Um die Pforten der Wahrnehmung zu öffnen und den Übergang in veränderte Bewusstseinszustände zu bereiten, empfängt das HAU 2 die Festivalgäste mit einer ganz besonderen Atmosphäre. Die bildenden Künstlerinnen und Bühnenbildnerinnen Doris Dziersk, Anke Philipp und Sophie-Therese Trenka-Dalton verwandeln das Theater in ein ekstatisches Festivalzentrum, das die Besucher mit Wärme, Geborgenheit, Gemütlichkeit und gutem Essen empfängt. Hier finden Performances und Improvisationen, Konzerte und Vorträge, Partys und Dinner statt.
